Times Square’s Hotel

•August 2, 2007 • 11 Comments

Everyone was bored staying at home. Studying for the finals is like a never ending journey. So we decided to take the time off and head elsewhere to get a change of environment. This time, Times Square.

After wasting time spending a couple of quality hours studying in BORDERS’ Starbucks, we decided to head off to have a look at Emily’s place.

Walking towards the hotel. The scene never changed much from the time when we visited Vivo City in Singapore a few months back. I’m always trailing from the back taking explicit photos.

So here we are. Standing right in front of Emily’s hotel room. Eager to rush in to see just how Time Square’s hotel rooms look like. Thank goodness Shung was not grabbing the wrong place, or else Caryn would be on her way back from Canada now.

Shocked, not because of the room itself but rather, the first thing we saw was Emily’s boxers hanging on the chair! Emily wears boxers? Interesting.

By the way, take note of what Shung was wearing too. It’s the same ol’ orange tee and black Adidas pants. Just look at my previous post, the one I took in Singapore and now. If you pity him, please send your donations to TWOT Foundation and I’ll gladly buy him some new shirts.

As you can see, the arrangement and design of the place are somewhat rather authentic. And there you have Zeek in one corner, digging through the stack of DVDs in hope to find anything that could add on to his “collection“.

A peek into the room and the kitchen. Such cozy areas.

From the room, you get to see an overview of KL. But of course, it’s not the entire KL since it’s not as small as Batu Pahat. Like usual, each hotel comes equipped with a swimming pool.

However, nothing is perfect.

I noticed that many switches around the hotel room were crossed out. I wonder why. And just look at the water, its brown! No. I didn’t pee in it and then take a picture. Although I admit I have the tendency of doing such things but just not this time. The water supply was brown all along.

One last thing. There’s so many Ah Lians in Times Square!

It’s All Good

After what we’ve gone through, spending some time here was pretty refreshing. Just one more hurdle to go, and that’s it!

I had to do some reading before the actual day comes. So I found myself a secluded spot, a nice corner behind the barista counter to read up. Things went quite well until…

…this fella started snapping photos of everything around him. He’s like a snapper whore cum a cam whore. The amount of photos that he is capable of taking in a day is just unbelievable.

By the way, everyone seemed very emotional about their last day in Batu Pahat. Almost everyone that I know (who has a blog) blogged about it. Just makes me feel like jumping onto the bandwagon as well.

I’ll see what I can come out with later…

Noble House

No. It’s not a brothel house, mind you. But then again, it’s filled with sexily-clad female customers. Anyway, it’s a Chinese restaurant located somewhere in KL, within a few minutes drive from KLCC.

The food was a-o-kay. Nothing fanciful except the price.

Crab meat ball with honey melon salad served together with abalone plus minced scallop soup. The servings were too small.

Fried babi pork skin, with heavily-salted chicken and mayonnaise-d vegetables. Both of these dishes are really bad for health, if you ask me. One gives you loads of cholesterol, and the other accelerates atherosclerosis by promoting hypertension. Such a wonderful combination.

Ah. I’m not really going into the food details here. I’m more interested in the place instead.

Yup. An artificial pond within the restaurant itself with koi fishies in it. Something that you don’t really get to see often in a typical Chinese restaurant. It’s pretty relaxing after a heavy meal, just by standing there and watch the fishies swim around, although the toilet’s nearby too if you feel like letting go.

It occupies almost the entire lobby of the restaurant. Sorry, but if you’re looking for the sexy female customers, they’re not in the picture. Grace would kill me if I took any pictures of them.

Here’s the best part. Each room is fully equipped with this.

You really need loads of stamina to endure this.

What Just Happened?

Things around me definitely has changed. Or were they there all along but I didn’t really take notice?

I was on my walking through the parking lot today and I noticed that an old woman was carrying a baby wheel cart. She was dragging both her feet because the cot was apparently too heavy for her. I paused and looked, wanted to stop and help but soon realized her family members were just right ahead. They were already in the car waiting for her. Why can’t they just come out and help the poor lady out?

What just happened?

Then, followed by a couple. This guy was walking so far ahead that he left his wife/girlfriend/sister/whoever-she-was way behind. She was carrying her groceries and frantically trying to catch up but it seemed like a never ending chase for her. And it was raining! Such a pity to see what a gentleman he was.

What just happened?

Worse, I was reversing my car from home and this another car, which was about 500 meters away, started honking right where he was, sped and squeezed through behind me. I didn’t even see that he was coming until I heard his honk. He almost knocked into my car’s rear. Can’t you at least slow down one bit for both our safety?

What just happened?

Sigh. What is happening to the community these days? Are they just being ignorant? Or are they just being plain self-centered? Sad sad. Really sad. Oh well, at least we ourselves should try to make it a better place.

Anyway, here’s a little sneak peek of my next post.

Home Sweet Home

How true is that? After 5 long years… *coughs* Okay, fine. It’s 5 long months. Knowing that I’ll be home for good is euphoric. I know many would feel the same way as I do. Words just can’t describe how good it can be.

So here’s a song, about what I’m feeling right now.

Oh, the beautiful morning sun.

The cooling breeze of KL air. *chokes*

My sweet comfy bed.

Home cook food.

Ah… home. It’s just wonderful.

The Time Has Come

For us to say goodbye…

These are a couple of random shots from our farewell dinner, which I kinda liked. They are a bunch of good group mates, and most important of all, very good friends too.

Sorry Boss. I just had to put that up. Hahaha.

The Definition of “Hot” in Men

•July 23, 2007 • 5 Comments

Recently, I’ve received 2 different opinions on whether a guy is hot, or not.

The first comment went like…

The dude in the car is so HAWT. whos that?

Which was then followed by another comment…

U can’t be serious! he is so not hawt! u must be really short sighted to think he is.

Now, the question. How do you actually qualify a guy for being hot? Or his level of hotness?

** All pictures above do not belong to me. They’re just for illustration purposes only.

Is it the face that’s similar to Beckham’s? Smooth round head, sleek-looking eyes and a peanut-shaped face.

Or is it the way the guy portray himself that makes him hot, just like Clooney? A nice black suit with one charming killer smile.

Or just like Kenny Sia, our famous Malaysian blogger? Popular and outgoing.

Or is it none of the above? It’s just all about the physique only. The hot and big chunky muscles that are slurping at you.

Or the K-K-B? The BIGGER the better?

I guess it’s how the society thinks and depicts how men looked these days. He could be skinny like crap but still looked hot. Or he has flabs all over and yet still looked hot. He has a squeaky voice but a beautiful face and yet still looked hot.

So what exactly is hot?

I don’t really know either… all I know is that I’m hot. Well, at least the paracetamol thinks so too.

Ah. I’m off to bed now.
